You have the option to write out your response in the practice test prompt box. Your work is saved at regular intervals, so you do not have to worry about losing your response. The prompt box also contains an on-screen word count feature. If you prefer, you can also type your response elsewhere and copy/paste it into the prompt box when you are done.
